Super Bikes is the name given to the worlds most powerful motorbikes. The British Superbikes championship runs between April & October and takes place at sites up and down the country where some of the greatest world superbikes will be exhibited.
Superbikes are racing motorcycles that are derived from the standard production models of the manufacturer. While the definition of the rules on superbikes vary from series to series the general rule of thumb is that the super bike must have the same profile as their roadgoing counterparts so the frame can not be modified and the superbike will have the same appearance at the front, rear and sides of the machine. Individual teams are permitted to modify certain elements of the super bike that include the suspension and brakes as well as the swingarm and the wheels of the super bikes.
To qualify as a Superbike the superbikes must have four stroke engines between between 750 cc and 1000 cc for 4 cylinder bikes and 850cc and 1200cc for twin bikes.
